A new top-level category, File Tools, ships alongside its first tool: File Identifier and Recovery.
Drop any batch of files into the tool and it reads their magic bytes, tells you what each file actually is (JPEG, PNG, MP4, HEIC, PDF, ZIP, and more), and offers to rename them with the correct extension. This is the fastest way to recover photos and videos that were renamed to something wrong, commonly .dll from ransomware or a broken sync tool, as long as the file itself is intact.
Files that look encrypted (very high entropy, no signature match) are blocked from rename and a warning panel appears with direct links to nomoreransom.org and cisa.gov/stopransomware. Real Windows executables (MZ header) are detected and never renamed. Every operation runs in your browser. No file is ever uploaded.
Nav order is now PDF Tools, Image Tools, File Tools, Finance Tools, Data Tools, Dev Tools.
