About Background Remover
Workforge Background Remover uses on-device AI to detect the subject of an image and cut it away from the background, all inside your browser. There is no upload step, no server queue, and no watermark. Drop an image, wait a second for the model to run, and you have a clean transparent PNG ready to download. If the AI misses a hair or a shadow, a manual brush lets you paint the mask by hand at pixel level.
Beyond auto-removal, the tool offers full background replacement: swap in a solid color, a two-stop gradient, a custom image, or a soft-blurred version of the original for a portrait look. Edge refinement smooths jagged mask boundaries, and drop shadow or reflection effects add depth. One-click templates (Passport, LinkedIn, Product, Marketplace, Avatar, Ecom hero) apply platform-specific size, background, and crop presets in a single click.
Export in your choice of transparent PNG, JPG with a chosen background color, or WebP for smaller file sizes. Native resolution plus a 2x variant is available for retina screens. Platform packs bundle multiple sizes (LinkedIn, Shopify, Amazon, X) into one ZIP so you can update every listing image at once. A batch mode accepts a folder of images and returns a ZIP of cutouts.
Most background-remover services upload your image, apply a hard resolution cap on the free tier, or watermark the output until you pay. Workforge Background Remover has none of these limits. Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. The AI model runs in your browser via WebAssembly and WebGL. Your images never leave your device.
Does it work well on hair, fur, and soft edges?
Yes for most cases. The AI is trained on portrait and product imagery. For difficult edges, the manual touch-up brush lets you refine the mask at pixel level.
Can I process many images at once?
Yes. Batch mode accepts a folder of images and returns a ZIP of cutouts. Batches of dozens of images work fine on a modern laptop.
Is there a resolution limit?
Input up to 4096 pixels on the longest side. Higher resolutions can be decoded but are downsampled by the AI model.
Can I use the output commercially?
Yes. The tool does not claim any rights over your images or output. Use freely for commercial or personal work.
