About HEIC to GIF

Workforge HEIC to GIF turns iPhone Live Photos into shareable animated GIFs, right in your browser. A Live Photo captures about 1.5 seconds of video wrapped alongside the still frame in a HEIC container. This tool reads the motion track, samples frames, and encodes an animated GIF ready to post on Slack, Discord, Reddit, or any platform that does not accept HEIC natively.

Choose the frame rate (10 to 30 fps), output dimensions (original, half, or custom), and whether the animation should loop forever or a fixed number of times. A preview plays before you download. The tool automatically trims dead frames at the beginning and end where the phone was not yet holding steady, so the result feels intentional.

Static HEIC files without a motion track are also accepted; the tool exports them as a single-frame GIF. If you feed in a Live Photo pair (the .HEIC still plus the .MOV motion track) it uses the higher-quality video source. Everything runs locally: no upload, no queue, no watermark on the output.

Alternatives either upload your Live Photos to a stranger's server, cap the output at low resolution, or paywall the download. Workforge HEIC to GIF has none of these limits. Convert as many Live Photos as you want, at any dimensions your browser can encode, with no branding on the output.

Frequently asked questions

Are my Live Photos uploaded to a server?

No. The decode and GIF encode happen in your browser. Your photos never leave your device.

What if the HEIC has no motion track?

The tool falls back to a single-frame GIF using the still image. Static HEIC files still convert cleanly.

What is the maximum file size?

No hard cap, but Live Photos are usually under 5 MB. Very large multi-second exports may take a few seconds to encode.

How do I get Live Photos off my iPhone?

AirDrop to a Mac keeps both the HEIC still and the MOV motion track. iCloud.com download and USB transfer also preserve them.

Is audio kept?

No. GIF is a silent format. If you need audio, export as MP4 instead.
