About Markdown to HTML

Workforge Markdown to HTML converts Markdown source into clean, semantic HTML, right in your browser. The parser handles CommonMark plus the full GitHub Flavored Markdown superset: tables, task lists, strikethrough, autolinks, footnotes, and fenced code blocks with language hints. A live preview beside the editor updates as you type, so you can see exactly what the rendered output will look like.

Code blocks get syntax highlighting for the common languages a developer actually uses day-to-day: JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Bash, SQL, JSON, YAML, HTML, CSS, Rust, Go, Java, C#, and more. The highlight theme is neutral and paste-friendly so it looks right in a blog post, a wiki page, or documentation. Turn highlighting off if you want plain <code> output for a downstream styler.

Output modes include copy the raw HTML source, copy a styled HTML fragment ready to paste into an email or a rich-text editor, or download a complete .html file with a minimal stylesheet embedded. An optional sanitization pass strips unsafe HTML tags and script content so the output is safe to render inside a broader page. Batch mode accepts many .md files and returns a ZIP with one .html per source file.

Many online converters require paste or upload, produce non-semantic HTML (divs instead of headings, inline styles instead of classes), or gate GFM features behind a paid tier. Workforge Markdown to HTML runs locally, produces clean semantic output, and includes every GFM feature for free.

Frequently asked questions

Is my Markdown uploaded to a server?

No. The parser runs in your browser. Your Markdown source never leaves your device.

Is GitHub Flavored Markdown supported?

Yes, in full: tables, task lists, strikethrough, autolinks, footnotes, and fenced code blocks with language hints.

Is code syntax highlighting included?

Yes. JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Bash, SQL, JSON, YAML, HTML, CSS, Rust, Go, Java, C#, and more. Highlighting can be turned off if you prefer plain code tags.

Can I sanitize the output for safe embedding?

Yes. An optional sanitization pass strips unsafe HTML tags and script content so the output can be rendered inside a broader page without risk.

Can I download or just copy the output?

Both. Copy raw HTML source, copy a styled fragment, or download a complete .html file with a minimal stylesheet.
